Lucy's Cookery School is now open in the Staveley Village, aptly named "Lucy Cooks", where you can be inspired, educated and entertained.
Situated in Staveley's Mill Yard, set on the edge of the River Kent, an "industrial village" being created by Staveley Mill Yard owner, David Brockbank, it includes a micro-distillery and a beer hall & sampling room, alongside existing businesses such as bakers, furniture makers, copper engravers, manufacturing joiners and outside caterers.
I went along to meet Lucy and found a lady with vision who within minutes had me wanting to cook. I was also amazed by what they offered with their beautifully proportioned purpose built kitchens to the range of courses available.
You can discover a whole new approach to preparation and cooking food, particularly food produced in Cumbria. Whether you wish to learn the basics for life, find new direction or simply escape the day to day routine - you'll be trilled at what they have to offer.
It caters for all kind of people and has a range of courses to suit, so whether you’re a novice or a Nigella, you'll find something for you. It also has a shop were you can purchase local produce to take home with you and try out what you learnt.
