Staveley's very own Beer Hall & Sampling Room is now open in the village, with a fully licenced bar overlooking the River Kent.
It is part of the Hawkshead Brewery Ltd which opened it second brewery in May 2006 in Staveley Mill Yard. The first brewery, started in 2002 by former BBC journalist Alex Brodie, continues to be listed in a barn at the head of Esthwaite Water.
A further extension to the Brewery was the Beer Hall & Sampling room, (plus visitors centre) which has a connecting door to Wilf's cafe, whereby you can take food or drink from one premises to the other.
The brewery at Staveley is part of an "industrial village" being created by Staveley Mill Yard owner, David Brockbank, it include's a micro-distillery and a cookery school, alongside existing businesses such as bakers, furniture makers, copper engravers, manufacturing joiners and outside caterers.
The Beer Hall, which has been designed to showcase its real ale, is open Wed - Sunday 12 - 7pm and is available for private functions. It also holds tours of the brewery by arrangement only.
It also host's a training centre, which will offer cources for the pub trade. For further information you can visit their website at www.hawksheadbrewery.co.uk
